Jharkhand Sizzles as Temperature Soars Above 40°C in 16 Districts

Palamu Records Highest Temperature at 44.4°C, No Heatwave Recorded Yet

Residents of Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, faced intense heat on Friday as temperatures soared above 40 degrees Celsius in 16 districts across the state.

RANCHI – Palamu district recorded the highest temperature at a scorching 44.4 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur experienced a maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius.

West Singhbhum and Saraikela districts also witnessed high temperatures of 40.6 degrees Celsius and 42.1 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Despite the soaring temperatures, no heatwave conditions have been officially recorded in any district of Jharkhand so far.

Dr. Abhishek Anand from the Meteorological Department Ranchi Center has forecasted that the maximum temperature in the state is expected to increase by three to four degrees in the coming days.

Weather Forecast for Saturday

According to the meteorological department, heatwave conditions are likely to continue in the northwestern, central, and adjacent northeastern parts of Jharkhand on Saturday.

The affected districts include Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, and Sahebganj.

Additionally, there is a possibility of lightning in Lohardaga, Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharsawan districts.

As the temperatures continue to rise, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the scorching sun.
