Chhau Festival Opens in Seraikela With Ritual Ceremony

JAMSHEDPUR – The state-level Chaitra festival and Chhau Mahotsav started in Seraikela with traditional rituals led by MP Joba Majhi.

The inauguration took place at Birsa Munda Stadium on April 11. The festival will continue until April 13.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Joba Majhi formally opened the event. The ceremony followed established local traditions.

Moreover, traditional rituals marked the beginning of the festival. Organisers ensured all customary practices were followed.

However, several senior officials attended the inaugural programme. Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh was present.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Mukesh Lunayat also attended the ceremony. Other key dignitaries joined the event.

Moreover, the district council chairperson and city mayor were present. The Nagar Panchayat chairman of Seraikela also attended.

In addition, the Additional Deputy Commissioner joined the programme. The Sub-Divisional Officer of Seraikela was also present.

However, the Chhau Mahotsav is a major cultural event in Jharkhand. It showcases traditional masked dance performances.

Meanwhile, Seraikela Chhau is known for its distinctive style. The festival attracts artists and visitors every year.
