Rain Alert Issued for Jharkhand, Western Disturbance Impacts Weather
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for Jharkhand on January 31 and February 1, with a western disturbance affecting the weather pattern in the state.
RANCHI – Weathermen have predicted a shift in Jharkhand’s weather, with the IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issuing an alert for isolated rain in the state on Wednesday and Thursday.
On January 31, light rain is expected in southern and central parts of Jharkhand, while February 1 will see similar conditions extending to the north-east region.
Currently, a strong jet stream wind is prevailing over northern India, influencing the weather pattern.
Two fresh western disturbances are likely to affect Northwest India, starting from January 30 and another following on February 3.
Jharkhand experienced dry weather in the past 24 hours, with Chaibasa recording the highest maximum temperature of 27.4°C and Godda the lowest minimum at 6.1°C.
Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltonganj recorded minimum temperatures of 9.4°C, 11.7°C, and 8.3°C, respectively.
The impact of the Northwest Disturbance is set to bring cloudy conditions from Tuesday, with a weather forecast indicating rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
Meteorologist Dr. Abhishek Anand noted that Chaibasa experienced the highest maximum temperature of 28.4°C, while Garhwa recorded the lowest minimum of 7.3°C.
The forecast for the next five days suggests a gradual increase in minimum temperatures across Jharkhand.
Multiple districts, including East and West Singhbhum, Simdega, Seraikela Kharsawan, and Ranchi, are on alert for potential rainfall.
The weather is expected to clear up after February 2, providing relief from the anticipated rainfall.
