Kolhan Districts Receive Rs 11 Lakh for Cold Wave Relief

Jharkhand Government Allocates Funds to Combat Cold Wave in Kolhan

Kolhan districts in Jharkhand receive crucial funding from the Disaster Fund to implement cold wave relief measures, as directed by the state government.

JAMSHEDPUR -In response to the severe cold wave, Kolhan districts including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan have been allocated a total of Rs 11 lakh from the Disaster Fund.

The fund allocation aims to assist these districts in making special arrangements, like lighting bonfires, to provide relief to those affected by the plummeting temperatures.

East Singhbhum has been allocated Rs 4 lakh, West Singhbhum Rs 4 lakh, and Seraikela-Kharsawan Rs 3 lakh for this purpose.

Secretary of the Home, Jail, and Disaster Department of Jharkhand, Amitabh Kaushal, issued directives to District Commissioners for efficient fund utilization.

A total of Rs 79 lakh has been disbursed across all 24 districts in Jharkhand, emphasizing the state’s commitment to combating the cold wave.

The directive includes strict instructions to adhere to spending norms and ensure timely use of the allocated funds.

District Commissioners are mandated to surrender any unspent amounts by March 20, ensuring the funds are used effectively and promptly.

Authorities have been specifically instructed to avoid misusing the funds for purposes like generating air conditioning bills.

This funding is a significant step in providing necessary relief to impoverished individuals and others affected by the harsh winter conditions in the Kolhan region.
