Bike-borne Criminals Flee with Cash Near Gaushala Bridge

On Friday evening, bike-borne criminals attacked Ganesh Mahato, an elderly resident of Dumaria, and looted Rs. 2.5 lakh from him at Gaushala Bridge in Dhanbad district.

DHANBAD – An elderly man named Ganesh Mahato was assaulted and robbed of Rs. 2.5 lakh by bike-borne criminals near Gaushala Bridge under Katras police station in Dhanbad district on Friday evening.

Ganesh Mahato, a resident of Dumaria in Govindpur, was returning home on his bike after withdrawing money from the Katras branch of the State Bank when the incident occurred.

Two youths on a bike overtook him, stopped his bike, assaulted him, and took the money kept in the bike’s trunk before fleeing towards Rajganj.

Katras police station in-charge Ashish Singh arrived at the scene with his team and conducted an investigation.

He questioned the victim and the bystanders, but Ganesh Mahato, shaken by the incident, was unable to provide detailed information.

The police are actively investigating the case to identify and apprehend the culprits.

"The safety of our citizens is paramount, and we are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice," said a police officer.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety of individuals carrying large sums of money.
