JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Nagrik Samiti, in collaboration with the District Administration and Sonari Police Station, has initiated a significant drug eradication and awareness campaign.
This initiative was launched near Sonari Bhootnath Temple, Kapali Basti, and Ram Mandir Chowk, drawing participation from numerous local residents and council administration members.
Concerns have been raised by residents about increasing incidents of snatching and drug-related crimes in the area.
Locals expressed fear and frustration over the open sale of liquor, drugs, and other intoxicants in settlements and at intersections.
The campaign highlights the growing drug addiction among youth, including students, and its impact on families and the community.
Participants expressed their gratitude to the Jamshedpur Civic Council for its continuous efforts to combat drug issues.
The district administration’s support is seen as crucial in making Jamshedpur a drug-free and crime-free city.
Mohan Singh from Sonari Police Station vowed to eliminate illegal drug sales in the area.
Chief Convenor Shiv Pujan Singh emphasized the campaign’s ongoing commitment to banning the sale and use of intoxicants.
Community leaders like Ramesh Kumar, Kanhaiya Dubey, Pyare Lal Sahu, and Munna Chaubey pledged to pressure the administration to enforce a drug ban.
The organizers said that the campaign resonates with the vision of creating a safer environment in Jamshedpur, aligning with Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of a truly independent country.
