East Coast Railway Announces Train Cancellations

Rail Upgrades Lead to Cancellations in Khurda Road Division

East Coast Railway has announced the cancellation of Puri-Barbil Express and vice-versa due to modernization efforts aimed at enhancing passenger safety.

BHUBANESWAR – The East Coast Railway has taken a decisive step towards infrastructural development, leading to the cancellation of key train services.

This development is part of a comprehensive safety upgrade in the Khurda Road Division.

Passengers planning to board the 18416 Puri-Barbil Express or the 18415 Barbil-Puri Express on November 9, 2023, will need to alter their travel plans as these services will not operate.

Indian Railways has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to these essential developmental works.

Railway officials said that this move is aligned with East Coast Railway’s commitment to ensuring the utmost safety and modern standards of travel for its passengers.

The cancellations are necessitated by the commissioning of the third line work between various stations under the Khurda Road Division, a crucial step in upgrading the railway’s infrastructure.

Passengers have been advised to seek alternative arrangements and stay informed on further updates from East Coast Railway.

For detailed information and assistance, travelers can visit the official East Coast Railway website or contact their helpline numbers.

Officials said that this temporary disruption underscores Indian Railways’ dedication to passenger safety and service enhancement through modernisation.
