Brutal Murder Case in Manoharpur Solved, Police Arrest Accused
SDPO Ajit Kumar Kujur announced at a news conference that the brutal murder case of a young woman in Ankua has been solved, with the arrest of the accused.
MANOHARPUR – The police successfully solved the brutal murder case in Ankua, where a woman was killed by being hit with a stone.
The announcement was made by SDPO Ajit Kumar Kujur at a press conference on Friday, held at the Manoharpur Police Station.
The woman’s body was discovered on July 18 in a thicket by the Koyna river, after she was killed on July 17.
A team under the leadership of the Police Inspector Manoharpur Zone was assembled to investigate this sensitive case.
The team managed to identify two witnesses who saw a young man dragging the woman’s body towards the river.
Upon questioning, the witnesses identified the perpetrator as Ramay Bodra alias Tota, a resident of Timra village.
Based on this information, the police conducted a raid and arrested Ramay Bodra.
He confessed to the crime, stating that he killed the woman when she found his lost mobile phone and asked him to verify his identity.
When she resisted his attempt to retrieve the phone, he became furious, attacked her, and killed her.
The police charged him and placed him in judicial custody on Friday.
The team that conducted the raid included SDPO Ajit Kumar Kujur, Inspector Fagu Horo of the Manoharpur Circle, Chidiya OP in-charge, Manoharpur Police Chief Devsai Bhagat, and several other officers.
