‘Gaavho Sachi Bani’ Competition Aims To Connect Youth With Sikh Heritage
Events at Sakchi and Bistupur Gurudwaras to feature Gurbani recitations and historical knowledge tests.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Sikh community in Jamshedpur is organizing the ‘Gaavho Sachi Bani’ Kirtan Competition and Sikh History Quiz, with finals scheduled for August 4 at Sakchi Gurudwara.
"This event aims to keep Sikh youth connected to Guru’s teachings and our history," stated an organizer.
Auditions and written exams will be held on July 28 at Bistupur G Town Gurudwara.
Key features of the event include:
– Kirtan performances of 31 Ragas-based Gurbani Shabads
– History quiz for age groups 10-20 and 21-40
– Bibi Simran Kaur from Ludhiana as judge for Kirtan competition
– Huzuri Ragi of Takht Patna Sahib Harmandir Ji to share Gurbani teachings
Participants can enroll at local Gurudwaras or via phone/WhatsApp by July 20.
Cash prizes range from Rs. 1100 to Rs. 3001 for top performers.
The event will include felicitation of Sikh personalities and distribution of Guru ka Atoot Langar.
This initiative highlights efforts to preserve and promote Sikh cultural and religious heritage in Jamshedpur.
