In an unique initiative, the DFO of East Singhbhum district took a pledge to preserve trees and forests by organizing a Rakhi Mahotsav where rakhis were tied to the trees.
JAMSHEDPUR – Mamta Priyadarshi, DFO of East Singhbhum district, has initiated a unique campaign for environmental protection.
In an effort to preserve the trees and forests in the rural areas, rakhis were tied to the trees and a pledge was taken to safeguard them.
A Rakhi Mahotsav was organized in the Kadamdiha forest area of Bahargora block.
Ordinary citizens and special guests came together to worship trees and pledged to protect them by tying rakhis.
During this event, MLA Sameer Mohanty, DFO Mamta Priyadarshi, along with all the officials of the forest department and the local villagers were present.
Everyone participated in the tree worship and tied rakhis.
During this time, all present took an oath to protect the forests and trees.
DFO Mamta Priyadarshi stated that this rakhi will always serve as a reminder that they have pledged to protect these trees, encouraging consistent mental efforts towards their conservation.
