In response, villagers have organized morning and evening patrols and issued stern warnings to those responsible, including known forest smugglers.
Majhi Baba Durga Charan Murmu from Talsa village stated that the fires are set intentionally to exploit forest resources, despite strict bans on forest cutting.
Communities from Talsa, Turamdih, Kudada, Bhuridih, Bahardadi, and Bhitardadi are actively involved in forest conservation, striving to preserve the area’s lush vegetation.
A recent severe fire required four days of concerted effort by the villagers to be controlled, demonstrating their dedication to environmental stewardship.
