Late Gitanjali Express Derails Passengers’ Plans: Major Disruption at Tatanagar

Dozens of passengers miss Haldia-Anand Vihar weekly train due to delayed Mumbai-Howrah Gitanjali Express at Tatanagar. Complaints soar amidst railway chaos.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a turn of events at the Tatanagar station on Thursday, dozens of passengers missed their connection with the Haldia-Anand Vihar weekly train due to a delay in the Mumbai-Howrah Gitanjali Express.

The incident led to an uproar at the station, with passengers swarming the inquiry center and the station master’s room, demanding alternate travel arrangements on their existing tickets.

Ranjit Prasad and several others, traveling from Gondia to Gaya, blamed the delay of the Gitanjali Express on railway negligence.

The aggrieved passengers called for the railways to provide an alternative travel solution as a result of the inconvenience caused.

Under normal circumstances, the Haldia Anand Vihar weekly train is scheduled to depart Tatanagar station at 1.20 pm.

However, on Thursday, the train departed on time while the Mumbai-Howrah Gitanjali Express reached Tatanagar one and a half hour late.

Experts report that delays of the Gitanjali, Kurla, and Ahmedabad Express trains have become a daily issue, leading to widespread passenger disruption.

The ongoing delays have placed immense pressure on station staff, who often bear the brunt of passenger discontent.
