Madan Mahato, a villager in Chakulia block, tragically lost his life during a sudden encounter with a wild elephant.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a devastating incident between the villages of Kadamdiha and Kalsimog in Chakulia block, a man lost his life to a wild elephant’s attack.
The man has been identified as 44-year-old Madan Mahato, a resident of Kadamdiha village.
As per reports, the incident happened late Sunday evening while Mahato was making his way home from Kalsimog village.
Tragically, he was caught off guard by a wild elephant and couldn’t escape in time.
Following the incident, his body was transported to the Community Health Center for a postmortem on Monday.
In a gesture of immediate support, Sameer Kumar Mohanty, a local MLA, sanctioned Rs 25,000 from the forest department as an initial compensation to Saraswati Mahato, the deceased’s sister-in-law.
It has been noted that the remaining compensation will be processed and disbursed upon completion of the necessary paperwork.
