Newborn’s Death at Seraikela Sadar Hospital Triggers Outcry Over Doctor’s Negligence

Tragedy strikes at Seraikela Sadar Hospital as a newborn loses life due to alleged doctor negligence. The incident raises questions on Jharkhand’s healthcare system.

Seraikela: In a tragic incident that occurred at Seraikela Sadar Hospital, a newborn lost its life due to alleged negligence on the part of the attending doctor.

The incident has sparked outrage, with relatives demanding immediate action against the concerned doctor.

Despite claims by the Jharkhand government to enhance the state’s health services and the health minister’s assurance of quality medical facilities, this incident paints a grim picture of the state’s healthcare infrastructure.

The pregnant woman, a relative of two-time Panchayat Samiti member Savita Soy, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday following labor pain.

However, it’s reported that the on-duty doctor did not attend to the patient throughout the night, leaving the pregnant woman solely with a nurse.

Following a laborious delivery, the newborn faced breathing difficulties and required immediate medical attention.

However, the lack of prompt and appropriate treatment led to the unfortunate demise of the infant, sparking anger and causing commotion within the hospital.

This incident has left the family in despair and exposed the negligence of the doctors, thereby spotlighting the state’s healthcare system.
