ACB arrests MGM Police Station SI for taking bribe

The Anti Corruption Bureau of Jharkhand has arrested an SI of MGM Police Station for taking bribe of Rs. 10,000. The ACB team also carried out investigations in Sonari.

Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident, an SI of MGM Police Station has been arrested by a team of Anti Corruption Bureau of Jamshedpur.

The ACB team of the city has arrested SI M Singh of MGM police station while he was in the act of accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

After the arrest, the ACB team took the SI from MGM police station area to Sonari.

After interrogation, the ASI’s residence was also checked by the ACB team.

On investigation, the ACB team found the complaints against him to be true.

Sources said a person named J Singh had lodged an FIR against V Gope in MGM Police station regarding some dispute over some monetary transaction.

That case was being investigated by the Sub-inspector.

V Gope alleged that the SI M Singh had allegedly sought a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from him for wrapping up the case lodged against him.

According to V Gope, the SI had finally agreed to accept Rs. 10,000.

In the meantime, he informed the ACB about this, which soon swung into action.

On Tuesday, as soon as the transaction was carried out, the ACB team arrested the SI with the bribe money.

The ACB team is now investigating the matter.
