Four killed in two separate road accidents

Jamshedpur: Two youths, including a woman, died after a car travelling with high speed fell into water below a bridge built over a canal on NH 33 under the jurisdiction of Chandil police station a few kms away from Jamshedpur city.

According to information received, a car travelling from Jamshedpur to Ranchi on Sunday fell down from a bridge into the canal. The bridge is situated on NH 33 located in Chandil police station area.

The car was going from Jamshedpur to Ranchi. It was travelling with high speed and while reaching the bridge, the driver could not control it and it fell into the canal in high speed.

There were four people in the car and they started drowning in water.

However, the car driver somehow got out of the car and started shouting for help.

Hearing his cries, a few locals reached the place. The locals jumped into water and pulled out the girl and two youths in the car out of the water. The police too arrived at the site and took them the three injured to MGM Hospital. However, the doctors declared all three as brought dead.

Police sources say that all the three deceased were residents of Ranchi.

The deceased have been identified as 21-year-old Megha Rani, 34-year-old Sujit Horo and Birsa Toppo.

They were going to Ranchi in the car.

At present, the police have started investigations into the reasons for the accident.

The other road accident too occurred on NH 33 under the jurisdiction of MGM police station. Two youths were riding a speeding bike when their bike skidded and fell. Both the youths were seriously injured. One youth died during treatment at MGM Hospital.

The second youth is still under treatment.

The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Balram Mahato.

He worked in Tata Motors, Jamshedpur.
