Kashidih Durga Puja pandal to be much smaller

Saving lives more important, next time puja celebrations would be bigger: Abhay Singh

Jamshedpur: Corona is likely to have a major impact on Durga Puja celebrations as puja pandals and their scale and size in the city.

Like other puja pandals, Kashidih Durga Puja pandal too is going to be a much smaller affair. Although being in the centre of the city, Kashidih Puja Pandal has always been a centre of attraction for the devotees, this year things would be completely different owing to coronavirus threats and the government guidelines for Durga Puja celebrations and pandal.

Durga Puja Samity has made it clear that the pandal wold be a very small one. Only a few members of the committee would ensure that the puja rituals are completed.

The patron of the Kashidih Puja Committee Abhay Singh said that it would be ensured that no devotee visits the pandal and the entry is kept completely restricted.

Abhay Singh also appealed to the people to not visit puja pandals, avoid crowds and follow all safety norms.

He said that saving lives is more important. Several devotees and puja samity volunteers too have lost life due to corona and there is a general sadness in the area too.

He appealed to everyone to not ignore safety precautions and said that once this pandemic ends, next year puja would be celebrated on a bigger scale.
