JAMSHEDPUR – Ranchi police arrested three individuals in a major land scam and intensified questioning after fresh evidence and cash recovery surfaced.

Ranchi police launched action in a ₹200 crore land fraud case. Three suspects were detained from different city locations.

Meanwhile, those arrested include associates of prominent political figures. The accused were identified as Dinesh Agarwal, Ayan Sarkar, and Nilay Singh Gupta.

However, Dinesh Agarwal is linked to former minister Banna Gupta. Police are also probing his role in past health-related irregularities.

On the other hand, Ayan Sarkar is known to be close to Transport Minister Deepak Birua. He was earlier jailed in a transfer-posting investigation by enforcement agencies.

Moreover, sources said Sarkar had re-established influence after release from jail. A large amount of cash was reportedly recovered from his residence.

Meanwhile, Nilay Singh Gupta has connections with former Chief Secretary Vinay Choubey. Officials claimed administrative decisions often depended on his approval.

In contrast, police shifted two accused to Bistupur police station for questioning. The third accused was interrogated at the City SP residence.

Moreover, investigators questioned all three throughout the day at different locations. The arrests reportedly took place early in the morning.

However, officials confirmed preparations to shift all accused to Ranchi for further interrogation. Legal procedures are currently underway.

Meanwhile, several builders and land mafia operators from Jamshedpur are under scrutiny. Authorities suspect a wider network linked to the scam.

In addition, sources indicated involvement of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in the operation. Further arrests may follow as the probe expands.
