JAMSHEDPUR – A young man died after suffering an electric shock while climbing a transformer in Devgaon on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred in Devgaon under Chakradharpur area early Thursday. Meanwhile, the victim was identified as Ganga Tanti from Ramchandrapur.

According to local reports, the man climbed the transformer around 5 am. However, he received a severe electric shock during the attempt.

Meanwhile, villagers noticed him on the transformer and raised alarm. Soon after, they informed the police about the incident.

Police reached the spot quickly after receiving information. Moreover, officers brought the body down with local assistance.

However, the victim had already died before rescue efforts began. In contrast, no immediate signs of foul play were reported.

Locals stated that the victim had unstable mental health. Moreover, he had arrived in the village as a guest.

Meanwhile, the sudden death created a somber atmosphere in Devgaon. Families gathered as police started formal procedures.

Police have taken custody of the body for postmortem. Meanwhile, an investigation is ongoing to confirm exact circumstances.
