JAMSHEDPUR – A 40-year-old woman died by suicide in Sonari after prolonged distress linked to childlessness.

A woman died by suicide in the Sonari area late Monday night. The incident occurred in B Block Kumharpada locality.

However, family members discovered the incident on Tuesday morning. They quickly brought her down from the noose.

Meanwhile, she was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The deceased was identified as Rupa Devi, aged 40. She had married Ajay Verma in 2003.

Moreover, the couple had no children despite years of marriage. This reportedly caused her mental distress.

She operated a clothing shop in Sonari market. Locals described her as a known trader.

However, police recovered a suicide note from the scene. The note stated no family member was responsible.

Meanwhile, she mentioned her inability to have children as the reason. She wrote that this led to her decision.

On the other hand, a family wedding was scheduled soon. Her cousin’s marriage was set two days later.

Moreover, the incident has left the family in shock. Neighbors also expressed concern over the tragedy.

Police conducted a postmortem examination on the body. Later, the body was handed to relatives.

Meanwhile, further investigation is underway by authorities in Jamshedpur. Officials said they are verifying all circumstances.
