SIT Formed Under SSP Recovers Car, Weapon Used in Killing

JAMSHEDPUR – Police have cracked the case of the murder of young businessman Nikhar Sablok, announcing the breakthrough at a joint press conference held on Wednesday by Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan police. A Special Investigation Team constituted under Jamshedpur SSP Dr Ehtisham Waqarib achieved the success in the case, officials said.
According to police, Sablok was shot on August 24, 2026, and admitted to Tata Main Hospital, where he later died during treatment. A case bearing number 115/26 was registered at Bistupur police station following his death, after which an investigation was launched.
Given the seriousness of the case, police constituted a Special Investigation Team to pursue the matter further. The team advanced its probe using technical evidence, CCTV footage and other material gathered during the investigation.
Police said the Hyundai i10 car used in the crime, bearing registration number JH 05 AN 5503, has been recovered. Officers also confirmed the recovery of the weapon used in the killing.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the case, police said. Those held have been identified as Ashok Kumar Singh alias Bunty, Sushil Rajak, Ritesh Singh, Sushil Kerai, Raja Kumar Singh alias Shooter Singh and Ankit Singh.
Police said the complete sequence of events behind the murder has come to light based on the interrogation of the arrested accused and evidence collected so far. Officers from both Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan police were part of the SIT formed to crack the case. Investigators said they are now examining the role of each arrested accused along with other aspects linked to the case.
