JAMSHEDPUR – A 19-year-old youth in Hazaribag died by suicide amid alleged drug debt pressure, with family accusing local youths of trapping him in addiction.

The incident occurred on Dr Zakir Hussain Road in Hazaribag city. However, the death triggered concern among residents over drug abuse.

According to information, the teenager developed a dependency on brown sugar. Moreover, relatives claimed he was initially given drugs on credit.

Later, repeated demands for repayment allegedly began. Meanwhile, the growing pressure reportedly caused fear and distress.

As a result, the youth died by hanging himself. However, family members rushed him to the hospital immediately.

Doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Meanwhile, grief spread quickly across the locality.

The family has accused several local youths of involvement. Moreover, they alleged a deliberate attempt to trap him in addiction.

They demanded strict police action against those responsible. Meanwhile, they claimed the addiction cycle was exploitative.

Local residents also raised concerns about rising drug activity. In contrast, they said such cases are increasing rapidly.

Reports indicate brown sugar trade is expanding in urban and rural areas. Moreover, several youths are falling into addiction.

Experts note addiction often leads to financial dependency. Meanwhile, such patterns can result in criminal behavior.

Incidents of theft and related crimes are reportedly increasing. In addition, authorities have been urged to strengthen monitoring.

Similar concerns have been raised earlier in Ranchi and nearby districts. Meanwhile, enforcement agencies continue anti-drug operations.

Police have not yet confirmed arrests in the case. However, investigations are expected to examine all allegations.
