JAMSHEDPUR – An injured elephant died in Saranda forest of West Singhbhum district following an IED explosion incident.
The elephant passed away late Saturday night. Death occurred between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM. Forest officials received information early Sunday morning.
The animal had become lethargic after treatment on Saturday. However, it consumed fruits and vegetables late at night. Afterwards, the elephant fell asleep in the forest.
Monitoring team arrived at the site Sunday morning. They discovered the elephant had already died. Medical experts confirmed the death upon examination.
Nitish Kumar, DFO Porahat, provided details about the incident. He stated forest department received the death report early Sunday. A medical team rushed to the location immediately.
Post-mortem examination is being conducted in the forest itself. The procedure continues to determine exact causes of death. Results will clarify circumstances leading to the fatality.
