JAMSHEDPUR – The Loyola High School ICSE Batch of 1977 has established a ₹7 lakh scholarship endowment to support academic excellence.
The Mast 77 Legacy Trust, formed in 2018, initiated this endowment to provide scholarships for academically outstanding students at Loyola High School. This endowment honors their alma mater, its educators, and the city of Jamshedpur.
Funding And Utilization
On January 5, 2025, trustees presented a cheque for ₹7,00,000 to the school’s Principal, Fr. Vinod Fernandes. The funds are placed in a fixed deposit, with annual interest funding five scholarships of ₹10,000 each for the toppers of five academic streams transitioning from Class XI to XII.
Fr. Vinod Fernandes remarked, “This initiative will inspire students to achieve academic excellence. It strengthens alumni bonds with the school and sets an example for giving back.”
Transparent Administration
Trustees Sudhansu Pathak, Mahendra Gupta, Amresh Sinha, Gautam Mascharak, Vivek Lamba, and Framroze Bugli expressed gratitude to donors. They clarified that the funds are exclusively for scholarships and cannot be repurposed.
A Sustainable Legacy
The scholarships, to be awarded during the Annual Prize Night, reflect the Batch of 1977’s commitment to fostering education. Representatives from the batch will attend the distribution ceremonies, ensuring continuity and support.
“This fund symbolizes our gratitude and ensures future Loyoleans excel academically,” stated the trustees.
