RANCHI – The Ministry of Civil Aviation is set to launch the Digi Yatra Facility at nine additional airports across India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s aviation sector.
The inauguration will be led by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, who will virtually unveil the facility at Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, at 10:30 AM on September 6, 2024.
The Digi Yatra Facility promises to revolutionize the passenger experience by enabling a fully digital, contactless process for boarding, security checks, and terminal entry.
Passengers will benefit from faster processing times and enhanced security through facial recognition technology integrated with airport systems.
Shri Murlidhar Mohol, the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, will also participate in the event via video conferencing, highlighting the government’s commitment to modernizing air travel in India.
"With the expansion of Digi Yatra, we are taking a significant step towards making air travel more efficient and secure across the country," said a spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Ministry.
This facility is part of the broader initiative to enhance India’s aviation infrastructure, with plans to extend Digi Yatra to all major airports nationwide.
