MEDININAGAR – A 22-year-old laborer from Palamu’s Chainpur area, Umesh Kumar Chaudhary, died under suspicious circumstances in Chennai. Umesh, son of Guddu Chaudhary from Kankari village, had gone to Chennai a month ago for work.

Phone Call Before the Incident

On the night of December 8, Umesh called his father and informed him about an altercation with his roommate, one G Chaudhary, who hails from Maira village in the same district. Umesh mentioned that the fight was over a financial dispute. Soon after the call, Umesh’s phone became unreachable, raising concerns for his family.

Father Reaches Hospital

Umesh’s father, who also works in Chennai, was informed by his son’s contractor on the morning of December 9 that Umesh had been admitted to a hospital in a critical condition. Upon reaching the hospital, Guddu Chaudhary found his son severely injured. Doctors recommended immediate brain surgery due to the severity of the head injuries. Despite the operation, Umesh succumbed to his injuries within 24 hours.

The family is now seeking justice and urging authorities to investigate the circumstances leading to Umesh’s death.
