Chief Minister Champai Soren Honors Martyrs, Announces Welfare Schemes On Hul Diwas

CM Visits Rajnagar Fair, Pledges Support For Tribal Development And Education

Champai Soren commemorated the 1855 revolution while outlining new initiatives for Jharkhand’s marginalized communities.

SERAIKELA – Chief Minister Champai Soren marked Hul Diwas with a visit to the Kumdih and Gamdesai fair in Rajnagar, where he paid tribute to martyrs Sidho and Kanhu.

Arriving by helicopter at Rolla Football Ground, CM Soren addressed the gathering in both Santali and Hindi, emphasizing the historical significance of the 1855 revolution.

"The sacrifices of Sidho, Kanhu, Chand, and Bhairav against British rule laid the foundation for our Santal Pargana and the CNT-SPT Act," Soren stated, urging citizens to honor their ancestors’ legacy.

The Chief Minister announced several new welfare initiatives, including a Rs 1000 pension scheme for women aged 21 to 50, set to launch in August.

He also revealed plans for a health insurance program offering up to Rs 15 lakh coverage for major diseases affecting the poor.

"Our ‘Abua Housing’ project aims to provide shelter to 20 lakh families, ensuring dignified living conditions for our people," Soren declared.

Addressing educational needs, the CM announced the recruitment of tribal teachers to instruct in regional languages such as Santhali, Ho, Kurmali, Mundari, and Oriya.

"We plan to hire 50,000 teachers and initiate police recruitment within the next two months," Soren added, highlighting the government’s focus on employment.

The Chief Minister criticized the previous BJP government for closing 5000 primary schools, promising to reopen them to ensure educational access for underprivileged children.

"Our government is committed to providing food, clothing, shelter, health, and education to all marginalized communities in Jharkhand," Soren concluded, pledging to utilize the state’s mineral wealth for its people’s benefit.
