JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur city residents continue to remember Ratan Tata fondly for his regular visits and significant contributions to Tata Steel and the city itself.
Tata first visited Jamshedpur in 1963 to assess Tata Steel operations.
In 1965, he returned to the city to enhance his pilot skills, marking his deep involvement with both Tata Steel and the broader Tata Group.
Ratan Tata became Chairman of Tata Steel in 1993 and visited the city frequently, particularly for the annual Founder’s Day celebrations, a tradition he upheld throughout his leadership.
Among his key visits, he was present during the inaugurations of the G Blast Furnace and CRM, and in 2019, he oversaw the upgradation of the MTMH hospital.
