Jamshedpur East Battleground: Saryu Roy to Contest on JD(U) Ticket

BJP Urged to Hold Back as JDU Secures Key Seat for Upcoming Assembly Polls

Key Points:

Saryu Roy to contest Jamshedpur East seat on JD(U) ticket

• BJP advised Raghubar Das not to make hasty decisions on candidacy

• Dr. Ajoy Kumar likely Congress candidate, setting up fierce contest

JAMSHEDPUR – The political landscape in Jamshedpur East is shifting as incumbent MLA Saryu Roy prepares to contest on a JD (U) ticket in the upcoming assembly elections.

Saryu Roy’s decision to align with JDU marks a significant political maneuver.

Moreover, this move comes after weeks of speculation and negotiations.

The sitting MLA had previously defeated former Chief Minister Raghubar Das as an independent candidate in 2019.

Meanwhile, JD(U)’s working president, Sanjay Jha, emphasized the strategic importance of the Jamshedpur East seat.

On the other hand, BJP faces a complex situation with Raghubar Das eager to contest the seat.

However, party leadership has advised Das to refrain from hasty decisions.

In addition, BJP insiders express concerns over not fielding a candidate in this crucial constituency.

The contest is shaping up to be a two-horse race between Saryu Roy and Dr. Ajoy Kumar of Congress.

Furthermore, Dr. Kumar, a former MP from Jamshedpur, is expected to be the Congress candidate.

With two political heavyweights in the fray, the electoral battle promises to be intense.

Besides, the absence of a BJP candidate may further polarize voters in the constituency.
