Jharkhand Secures Prominent Roles in Modi Government 3.0

Annapurna Devi Appointed Minister of Women and Child Development

Jharkhand representatives secure key positions in the Modi Government 3.0, emphasizing the state’s growing influence in national politics.

RANCHI – The newly formed Modi Government 3.0 has announced the division of cabinet portfolios, with notable appointments for representatives from Jharkhand.

Annapurna Devi, re-elected as MP from the Koderma parliamentary seat, has been appointed as the Minister of Women and Child Development.

This promotion follows her previous role as Minister of State for Education in 2019, highlighting her growing influence and leadership.

Sanjay Seth, re-elected for a second term from the Ranchi parliamentary seat, has been assigned the role of Minister of State for Defence.

His appointment further underscores Jharkhand’s significant representation in the central government.

Reflecting on past appointments, it is noteworthy that Jharkhand had two MPs in ministerial roles in the previous government.

Arjun Munda, MP from the Khunti parliamentary seat, served as the Minister of Tribal Affairs and occasionally held additional responsibilities for the Ministry of Agriculture.

Annapurna Devi was then the Minister of State for Education.

This tradition of strong representation continues with one Cabinet Minister and one Minister of State from Jharkhand in the current administration.

Annapurna Devi’s elevation to Cabinet Minister reflects the confidence placed in her capabilities and the increasing prominence of Jharkhand in national politics.

Sanjay Seth’s new role as Minister of State for Defence emphasizes the state’s ongoing contribution to key national portfolios.

These appointments reaffirm Jharkhand’s significant presence and influence in the central government, continuing a legacy of impactful political representation.
