RANCHI – Union Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth received a threatening message demanding ₹50 lakh on Friday.
Following the incident, Minister Seth immediately informed the Delhi Police Commissioner and filed an FIR. The matter has since been escalated to the Jharkhand Police for further investigation.
Investigation Underway
Delhi Police promptly alerted Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta regarding the extortion demand. Preliminary investigations revealed that the mobile number used to send the threatening text was traced to the Hosir locality under Kanke police station in Ranchi.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Police has begun a full-scale investigation. Security agencies are on high alert after this audacious incident.
