Champai Government Approves Salary Hike for Jharkhand MInisters, MLAs, Officials
Cabinet Meeting Results in Increased Allowances and Benefits
The Champai government has approved a significant increase in salaries and allowances for various officials in Jharkhand, including the Chief Minister, Ministers, and other dignitaries.
RANCHI – In the first cabinet meeting after the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Champai Soren approved a substantial increase in salaries and allowances for MLAs, Ministers, and other government officials.
The decision aims to enhance the compensation and benefits for these officials.
Salary and Allowance Increases
The Chief Minister’s salary will now be one lakh rupees per month, up from 80 thousand, along with other facility allowances.
In-charge allowances have also been increased to one lakh per month.
The regional allowance has seen a hike from 80 thousand to 95 thousand per month.
"These changes reflect our commitment to supporting our officials and ensuring they have the necessary resources," said Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel.
New Compensation Structure
The updated compensation structure is as follows:
Chief Minister and Ministers:
– Salary: Increased from 80 thousand to one lakh per month.
– In-charge Allowance: Increased from 70 thousand to one lakh per month.
– Regional Allowance: Increased from 80 thousand to 95 thousand per month.
– Hospitality Allowance: Increased from 60 thousand to 95 thousand per month for the Chief Minister and from 45 thousand to 55 thousand per month for Ministers.
– Housing Loan: Increased from 40 lakh to 60 lakh at 4% interest.
Speaker of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly:
– Salary: Increased from 78 thousand to 98 thousand per month.
– In-charge Allowance: Increased from 70 thousand to one lakh per month.
– Regional Allowance: Increased from 80 thousand to 95 thousand per month.
– Hospitality Allowance: Increased from 60 thousand to 70 thousand per month.
– Housing Loan: Increased from 40 lakh to 60 lakh.
Leader of the Opposition:
– Salary: Increased from 65 thousand to 85 thousand per month.
– Regional Allowance: Increased from 80 thousand to 95 thousand per month.
– Honorary Allowance: Increased from 45 thousand to 55 thousand per month.
– Housing Loan: Increased from 40 lakh to 60 lakh.
– Charge Allowance: Increased from 70 thousand to one lakh per month.
Whips:
– Chief Whip: Salary increased from 55 thousand to 75 thousand per month.
– Deputy Chief Whip: Salary increased from 50 thousand to 70 thousand per month.
– Whip: Salary increased from 40 thousand to 60 thousand per month.
– Honorary Allowance: Increased from 45.5 thousand to 55 thousand per month.
– Regional Allowance: Increased from 50 thousand to 65 thousand per month.
– Charge Allowance: Increased from 70 thousand to one lakh per month.
– Computer Facility: Increased from 70 thousand to one lakh.
– Housing Loan: Increased from 40 lakh to 60 lakh.
MLAs:
– Salary: Increased from 40 thousand to 60 thousand per month.
– Regional Allowance: Increased from 30 thousand to 40 thousand per month.
– Former Member Pension: Increased from 40 thousand to 50 thousand per month.
– Computer Facility: Increased from 70 thousand to one lakh.
– Housing Loan: Increased from 40 lakh to 60 lakh.
Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel informed the media about these decisions. The demand for a salary hike was raised in the Jharkhand Assembly by MLAs and was fulfilled by the Champai government.
Unity on Salary Hike
The demand for a salary increase saw unity between the ruling party and the opposition, both inside and outside the Assembly.
This united front led to the successful approval of the salary hike.
