Cybercriminals Cheat Jamshedpur Man of ₹6 Lakh on Pretext of Overseas Job

Ashwini Kumar Sinha, a resident of Telco, Jamshedpur, files FIR after being scammed by cybercriminals promising a foreign job.

A resident of Telco, Jamshedpur, was defrauded of ₹6 lakh by cybercriminals under the guise of securing him a job abroad.

JAMSHEDPUR – Ashwini Kumar Sinha, a resident of Manifit Dhobi Line in Telco, Jamshedpur, has filed an FIR at the Bistupur Cyber Police Station after falling victim to a ₹6 lakh online scam.

The incident took place between December 8, 2023, and June 26, 2024.

Sinha, who holds an account at the Telco branch of SBI, linked to his mobile number 7903226570, reported that he was lured by an unknown individual named Firoz Khan, who claimed to be from Delhi.

Khan, using mobile number 9310224062, promised Sinha a job in Turkey and convinced him to transfer ₹2 lakh online.

Another accomplice, Naushad Ali Ansari, contacted Sinha via mobile number 7084925838 and extracted an additional ₹4 lakh on the same pretext.

The scammers also asked for Sinha’s passport, which he sent to the given Delhi address.

Sinha later confirmed that his passport was received at the specified address, but no further communication occurred, leading to the discovery of the fraud.

In total, Sinha was cheated out of ₹6 lakh by these cybercriminals.
