Tatanagar-Jaynagar Train Fares Higher Due to Longer Route
New service offers direct connection despite increased cost
Passengers on the new Tatanagar-Jaynagar train face higher fares compared to the Chhapra Express due to an extended route, but benefit from direct service.
JAMSHEDPUR – The newly introduced Tatanagar-Jaynagar train service comes with higher fares than the Chhapra Express, attributed to its longer route covering an additional 85 kilometers.
The Jaynagar weekly train travels 541 km between Tatanagar and Samastipur, compared to the Chhapra Express’s 455 km route.
This extended journey results in increased fares across all classes for passengers.
Sleeper class fare to Samastipur on the Jaynagar train is Rs 325, versus Rs 280 on the Chhapra Express.
Third AC travelers will pay Rs 880 on the new service, compared to Rs 755 on the Chhapra Express.
Second AC fares see a jump from Rs 1070 on the Chhapra Express to Rs 1245 on the Jaynagar train.
Despite higher costs, passengers appreciate the direct service to Jaynagar.
The new route eliminates the need for additional travel to stations like Darbhanga and Madhubani.
This direct connection offers greater convenience for residents of the Mithila region.
Passengers view the increased fare as a trade-off for improved connectivity.
The service is expected to be particularly beneficial for those traveling to northern Bihar.
