Mithila Rail Samiti Demand for Tatanagar-Jaynagar Train
Mithila Rail Sangharsh Samiti petitions for the operation of a sanctioned train route from Tatanagar to Jaynagar, impacting communities and cultural connections.
The Mithila Rail Sangharsh Samiti has submitted a demand to Tatanagar Railway, urging the commencement of a sanctioned passenger train from Tatanagar to Jaynagar via Darbhanga to enhance connectivity for diverse communities.
JAMSHEDPUR – Advocates from the Mithila Rail Sangharsh Samiti have officially requested the Tatanagar Railway Regional Manager to initiate the operation of a previously approved passenger train route from Tatanagar to Jaynagar via Darbhanga.
This demand aims to facilitate travel for approximately 4 lakh residents of various communities living in and around areas such as Darbhanga, Madhubani, Jaynagar, Sakri, and adjacent regions, including the Terai area of Nepal.
The plea highlights the absence of a direct railway facility to these culturally significant locations, underscoring the community’s disconnect from their heritage and places of cultural importance.
This initiative gains further significance with the Prime Minister’s announcements during his Nepal visit about the development of the Sita Corridor and other key cultural sites near Jaynagar.
The Mithila Rail Sangharsh Samiti, representing Hindu, Muslim, and Nepali communities, emphasizes the railway’s role in maintaining their cultural ties and expresses a firm stance with the message "no train, no vote" for the upcoming MP elections.
The demand letter, delivered during a meeting with the area manager, reflects the community’s longstanding hope and determination for better connectivity.
The area manager assured attendees of his dedication to addressing their request, signaling potential progress in realizing the sanctioned train service.
Present at the submission were community members including Anup Mishra (Jyoti), Akash Chandra Mishra, and others, unified in their call for action from the railway administration.
