Four-year-old Vasudev Singh dies in Dumkakocha village; MLA Ramdas Soren offers support

A tragic incident in Dumkakocha village claims the life of a young boy who drowned while playing in a drain filled with mountain water.

GHATSHILA – A four-year-old boy tragically drowned in a village drain in Dumkakocha, Ghatsila block, prompting a visit from MLA Ramdas Soren to offer condolences and support.

Vasudev Singh, son of Ratan Singh, was playing with other children when the incident occurred.

The young boy was rushed to the subdivision hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

The tragic event took place while Vasudev’s parents were engaged in plantation work in a nearby field.

MLA Ramdas Soren quickly responded to the news, visiting the village to meet with the grieving family.

During his visit, Soren expressed his condolences and promised all possible support to the family.

The drain where the incident occurred was filled with mountain water, creating a hazardous play area for children.

Several local officials and representatives accompanied MLA Soren during his visit to the village.

Among those present were MLA representative Jagdish Bhakat, Kali Pad Gorai, Kajal Dan, and Sukhlal Hansda.

Other attendees included Ampa Hembram, Karunakar Mahato, and Vimal Mardi, showing community support for the bereaved family.

The incident has raised concerns about child safety in rural areas, particularly near water bodies.

Local authorities may need to consider implementing safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
