JAMSHEDPUR – A dental student was allegedly assaulted after being drugged during a birthday party in Ranchi.
The incident occurred in Lalpur area of Ranchi during a private gathering. The victim was pursuing a Master in Dental Surgery course.
According to the complaint, she attended a birthday party at Gokul Vatika apartment. The flat was located on the fifth floor of the building.
However, she was told other girls would attend the party. Instead, only four male friends of the host were present.
Meanwhile, the cake was cut around 8 pm during the event. Soon after eating, the student felt drowsy and unusually hungry.
Moreover, the group offered her pizza shortly after the cake. Her condition worsened after consuming the food.
In contrast, she began feeling intoxicated and weak within minutes. She then went to a room to rest due to discomfort.
However, one of the host’s friends, identified as Danish, entered the room. He reportedly locked the door from inside.
Meanwhile, the victim was unable to resist due to intoxication. The accused allegedly assaulted her during that time.
After the incident, the accused fled from the apartment. The victim regained consciousness the next morning in an injured state.
Subsequently, she informed her friend about the incident. Her friend admitted her to Orchid Hospital in Lalpur.
Moreover, the police were informed soon after medical admission. A formal FIR was registered at Lalpur police station.
Meanwhile, police arrested the named accused Danish promptly. Raids are ongoing to trace other individuals present.
On the other hand, investigators are examining whether intoxicants were mixed in food. Forensic and medical reports are being reviewed.
Furthermore, Lalpur police station in-charge Rupesh Kumar confirmed a detailed probe. Officials are checking involvement of others in the case.
