A late-night accident on NH-33 near Chouka claimed the life of a woman and seriously injured a child.

Woman killed and child injured in a late-night road accident on NH-33 near Chouka; family returning from Rajrappa Temple hit by an out-of-control trailer.

JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic road accident occurred late Friday night on NH-33 near Chouka in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district, resulting in the death of a woman and severe injuries to a child.

The deceased has been identified as Babita Devi from Khakripara in Parsudih police station area, Jamshedpur.

The injured child, Samar Kumar Sah, was initially taken to MGM Hospital with the help of Chouka police and later referred to TMH due to the severity of his condition.

Other occupants of the car, including Raj Kishore Sah, his father Chhotelal Sah, mother Parvati Devi, and daughter Mahi, escaped unharmed.

Chhotelal and Parvati Devi reside in Bagbera Colony, Road No. 6.

The family had traveled to Rajrappa Temple for worship earlier in the day and were returning when the accident occurred.

They had stopped for a meal at a hotel near Chandil when an out-of-control trailer hit their car, causing serious injuries to all occupants and resulting in Babita Devi’s death.

Local residents helped apprehend the trailer driver, who has been handed over to the police.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
