Rotary Club Of Jamshedpur West Launches Tree Plantation Drive

Environmental Initiative Combines Greenery Efforts With Community Outreach

The event in Chimti Paharia Village included tree planting and distribution of refreshments to local residents.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West kicked off a tree plantation drive on July 1, 2024, as part of its ongoing environmental sustainability efforts.

The initiative, held in Chimti Paharia Village, combined tree planting with community outreach, including the distribution of cupcakes and bananas to villagers.

"This drive is about nurturing both our environment and our community bonds," stated Dr. Amit Mukherjee, President of the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West.

The event aimed to combat climate change, enhance biodiversity, and improve air quality in the region.

Secretary Dipti Singh emphasized the importance of involving local communities in environmental conservation efforts.

Club members J.B. Singh, Sanjeev Sehgal, and Anupama Sehgal actively participated in the tree planting activities.

"We’re not just planting trees, we’re planting hope for a greener future," remarked N.K. Agarwal, a participating member.

Dr. Ravindra Kumar and M.K. Jha engaged with villagers, explaining the long-term benefits of the initiative.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility.

Ashok Jha and Ramanna Khanna oversaw the distribution of refreshments, ensuring community engagement.

This initiative aligns with the Rotary Club’s broader mission of sustainable development and community service.
