Rotary Club Jamshedpur East Kicks Off New Year With Blood Drive
50 Units Collected At MGM Hospital, Club Also Sponsors Meal At Old Age Home
Event highlights Rotary’s commitment to community service and healthcare support.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East inaugurated the New Rotary Year with a blood donation camp at MGM Hospital Blood Bank, collecting 50 units of blood.
Dr. (Prof) K.N. Singh, Principal of MGM Medical College, attended as Chief Guest, alongside Guest of Honour Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Hospital Superintendent.
"This initiative exemplifies our motto of ‘Service Above Self’," stated Subhrajit Basu, Incoming President of the club.
Basu, along with First Lady and Joint Secretary Nidhi Basu, and Secretary Vikas Singh, led by example, donating blood and encouraging others.
The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and speeches from dignitaries and Rotary leaders.
Rotarian Punit Kauntia moderated the inaugural programme, which saw participation from numerous club members.
Senior Rotarians including O.P. Chopra, Kailash Singhania, and Madan Behari were present to support the initiative.
In a parallel act of service, the club sponsored a healthy lunch at Ashirwad Bhavan Old Age Home in Sakchi.
"Our commitment extends beyond blood donation to caring for our senior citizens," remarked Jayanti Datt, Director of Service Projects.
