Inner Wheel Clubs Host Green Marathon In Jamshedpur

Women And Students Unite To Promote Environmental Awareness

The event, marking the start of a new Inner Wheel session, saw participation from 120 schoolchildren and club members.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Inner Wheel Clubs of Jamshedpur, East, West, and Zest joined forces to organize a Green Marathon as part of their "Save Environment" campaign on Kadma-Sonari Link Road.

The marathon, coinciding with the start of the new Inner Wheel session, brought together club members and 120 students from various local schools.

"This event embodies our commitment to environmental protection and community engagement," stated District Chairman Alokananda Bakshi, who was present at the event.

Participants took a collective oath to protect the environment and raise awareness among Jamshedpur residents.

The marathon route along Kadma-Sonari Link Road was chosen to maximize visibility and community impact.

District Editor Nibha Mishra and PDC Aruna Taneja were among the notable attendees, supporting the initiative.

Club presidents Sarika Singh, Madhumita Sanyal, and Papiya Chatterjee led their respective teams in the event.

"Involving schoolchildren in this marathon helps instill environmental values early," remarked one of the participating school principals.

The Green Marathon served as a platform to educate participants and spectators about pressing environmental issues.

Organizers provided eco-friendly refreshments and information materials to reinforce the event’s message.

This collaborative effort highlighted the Inner Wheel Clubs’ dedication to social and environmental causes in Jamshedpur.
