Ramakrishna Mission English School To Host 171 Young Chess Players
The two-day event will serve as a selection trial for aspiring chess champions from CISCE schools across the region.
JAMSHEDPUR – The 5th CISCE Zonal Chess Tournament 2024, doubling as a selection trial, is scheduled to take place on July 4th and 5th at Ramakrishna Mission English School in Bistupur.
K. Rajani, Principal of Ramakrishna Mission English School and Tournament Organiser, presided over a preparatory meeting today, outlining the event’s rules and regulations.
"We’re excited to host 106 boys and 65 girls for this prestigious tournament," Rajani announced during the meeting.
The gathering saw attendance from sports teachers of various CISCE schools across Jamshedpur, ensuring wide representation.
IA Chandan Kumar Prasad, appointed as the Tournament Director, shared insights on the technical aspects of the competition.
Chiranji Lal, who will serve as an Arbiter, and Deepak Srivastav, Sports Teacher at the host school, were also present at the preparatory meeting.
IA Jayant Kumar Bhuyan has been named the Chief Arbiter for the tournament, bringing his expertise to ensure fair play.
IA Vishal Kumar Minz will support the officiating team as the Deputy Chief Arbiter.
The tournament is expected to be a platform for young chess talents to showcase their skills and potentially advance to higher levels of competition.
This event underscores the growing importance of chess in the CISCE curriculum and extracurricular activities.
Organizers are working to ensure a smooth and competitive environment for all participants over the two-day event.
