5th CISCE Chess Tournament Held At Ramakrishna Mission School

62 Girls Compete In Under-14, Under-17, And Under-19 Categories

Top performers to represent Jamshedpur zone at CISCE Regionals in Patna.

JAMSHEDPUR – The 5th CISCE Chess Tournament 2024 for girls took place at Ramakrishna Mission English School, Bistupur. It had a total of 62 participants, divided into three age categories.

"This tournament gives young chess talents a chance to show their skills," said K. Rajani, the Principal of the school hosting the event.

The top five qualifiers in each category will have the opportunity to represent the Jamshedpur zone at the CISCE Regionals in Patna.

Nitya Bharti, a student from Carmel Junior College, emerged as the leader in the qualifiers for the under-14 category.

Aditi Kashyap, a student of J H Tarapore School, achieved the highest position in the under-17 category.

Sunidhi Singh from J H Tarapore School came in first place in the under-19 group.

Purvi Ghosh, who is the President of Lions Club, graciously presented medals to the top three students in every category.

Chandan Kumar Prasad, an AI, served as the tournament director for the event.

IA Jayant Bhuyan served as the chief arbiter, while IA Vishal Kumar Minz served as the deputy chief arbiter.

It’s really exciting to see how chess is becoming more popular among young girls in Jamshedpur. This tournament is a great way to showcase their interest and talent.
