Tata Workers Union, the authorized union of Tata Steel, is gearing up for its upcoming election of poll committee on January 18, with preparations in full swing and a commitment to transparent and fair voting, highlighted by a Litti party hosted by the current president.
JAMSHEDPUR – Today, Team Tunnu, led by the current president Sanjeev Chaudhary Tunnu, held a crucial meeting in Bistupur.
The focus was on ensuring a transparent and fair election process for the Tata Workers Union.
Team Tunnu has planned a Litti banquet for the committee members tomorrow at 6:00 pm.
This event, scheduled at the residential office on Bistupur O Road, is expected to foster unity and strength ahead of the next union session.
The election of the returning officer and six members will take place at the Tata Workers Union premises on January 18.
A complete and efficient election process is anticipated, concluding on the same day.
Nominations are set to occur on the day of the election, with all 214 committee members, including officials, participating.
An observer from the Labor Department will oversee the entire election, ensuring adherence to regulations.
The election is open to all candidates, but only the 214 committee members will cast votes.
A notification for this election is slated to be issued on Tuesday and will be prominently displayed throughout the plant.
A recent meeting chaired by President Sanjeev Choudhary Tunnu delved into election-related discussions and planning.
The current term of the Tata Workers Union extends until February 11, with Team Tunnu devoted to maintaining election integrity as per constitutional guidelines.
