Sonari’s annual Jawara Puja concluded with a vibrant immersion procession to the Swarn Rekha river, marking the celebration’s highlight.

JAMSHEDPUR – On the auspicious day of Navami, Sonari witnessed the traditional Jawara Puja immersion procession, a significant cultural event that reached the Swarn Rekha river ghat.

Health Minister Banna Gupta participated in the journey, highlighting the puja’s importance and continuity in the region.

Gupta noted that the Jawara Puja is an annual event originating from Sonari, emphasizing its special significance in the community’s cultural calendar.

The procession was marked by a lively atmosphere with the sounds of drums enhancing the experience, as women devotees carried pots decorated with paddy plants on their heads.

This puja, organized by the Chhattisgarhi society, involves worshiping the nine forms of the Mother Goddess across nine days, culminating in the grand immersion on Navami.

The involvement of numerous devotees and the rhythmic drum beats contributed to a memorable and sacred observance of this cherished tradition.
