One more arrest in Telco’s Ranjit Singh murder case, bike used in murder also recovered

Jamshedpur: Rishi Kumar, a resident of Adityapur, has been arrested by the police in the case relating to murder of Ranjit Singh.

Ranjit Singh was killed near Sabuj Sangh puja pandal under the jurisdiction of Telco police station area.

The arrested person, Rishi Kumar, is the primary accused in the case.

Police have recovered a Pulsar bike and mobile used in the murder from his possession.

According to the police, the name of Rishi Kumar came up during the investigation of Ranjit Singh murder case.

After that the police started pursuing him.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a hideout near Parvati Ghat under the jurisdiction of Jugsalai police station.

Seeing the police force there, Rishi Kumar started running away by climbing a wall.

However, he could not get away from the police team.

While climbing the wall, he collided with a rock and sustained an injury in the leg.

The police promptly arrested him.

During the interrogation of the police, he has admitted his involvement in the Ranjit Singh murder case.

It is worth recalling that on October 3, criminals had publicly shot dead Ranjit Singh alias Ranjit Sardar in front of Telco Sabuj Kalyan Sangh.

The deceased too had a significant police record.

In this case, apart from Rahul Kumar Gupta, a resident of Ulidih, Anil Kumar of Adityapur and one accused from Dhanbad have been arrested for providing protection to the accused.

Earlier, on October 6, the police had disclosed the entire plot of murder of criminal Ranjit Singh alias Ranjit Sardar near Sabuj Sangh Durga Puja pandal of Telco police station area.

The SSP had then said that the main shooter, Rahul Gupta alias Sholay, was involved the incident. Another youth, Anil Kumar, from Adityapur, was also arrested for collaborating with the accuused.

The police had also recovered the weapon used in the incident, a live bullet.

The SSP Prabhat Kumar had disclosed all the details relating to the murder as well as the subsequent arrest of the accused.

He had revealed that on September 22, Ranjit was released from jail. During his stay inside the jail, there was a fight between Ranjit and Sholay.

The SSP said that at that time Ranjit had spit on his face. Sholay was allegedly feeling humiliated after that incident.

The SSP had revealed that Ranjit was being tailed by his adversaries soon after he was released from jail.

On September 3, Ranjit, who had come with daughter to the puja pandal, was shot dead.

At that time five shells and one live bullet were recovered from the spot.

The SSP had revealed that two more criminals were involved in the case.

The SSP had said that that Sholay was arrested on September 4 from near Ganga Memorial Hospital after a firing incident in Ulidih.
