Railway Announces 315 Special Trains for Puri Rath Yatra

Massive transportation boost to accommodate millions of devotees

Minister Vaishnaw outlines comprehensive plan after meeting with Odisha CM

BHUBANESWAR – The Indian Railways will operate 315 special trains for the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, scheduled from July 6 to 19, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced.

This decision follows a meeting between Vaishnaw and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in New Delhi.

Millions attend the Rath Yatra annually. These special trains will ensure pilgrims don’t face travel difficulties,” Vaishnaw stated.

Key Points:

– 315 special trains to run from July 6 to 19

– Trains will cover most parts of Odisha

– Accommodation arranged for 15,000 devotees in Puri

Special Train Routes:

Trains will operate from various locations including:

– Badampahar

– Rourkela

– Balasore

– Suvarnapur

– Daspalla

– Junagarh Road

– Sambalpur

– Keonjhar Garh

– Paradip

– Bhadrak

– Angul

– Gunupur

– Bangriposi

Additional trains planned for:

– Sandhya Darshan

– Bahuda Yatra

– Suna Vesha

Railway officials said that this initiative demonstrates the Railways’ commitment to facilitating smooth travel for the massive influx of pilgrims during the Rath Yatra.

The comprehensive plan aims to enhance the spiritual experience for devotees by reducing logistical challenges.

Local authorities in Puri are coordinating with railway officials to ensure seamless crowd management during the festival period.
