CM hands over appointment letters to players

Show your talent in sports, the government will take full care of you: CM

Ranchi: The Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday handed over appointment letters and cash awards to several players and felicitated them.

The CM said that the sportspersons of the state should focus on performing well in the sports arena, while the government will take care of their needs.

A function was organised for felicitating and rewarding the players who are representing the country in the Tokyo Olympics as well as para-olympics.

The Chief Minister presented an award of Rs. 5 lakh to the archer Deepika Kumari, who was participating in the Tokyo Olympics, and hockey players Ms. Nikki Pradhan and Ms. Salima Tete.

As these players were not available, their family members received the cash award on their behalf.

Apart from this, Rs. 3 lakh was given to Ajay Raj, who represented the country in the Bokia sport of Para Olympics.

12 players were given appointment letters for different posts in the Home Department.

The Chief Minister said that the Sports Department is continuously active in the direction of promoting sports and sportspersons in the state.

In this direction, for the first time after the formation of the state, sports officials have been appointed. Apart from this, direct appointment of players is being made.

The Chief Minister said that in rural areas of the state where there is a severe lack of facilities. There is a shortage of resources.

It is a matter of pride for all of us, especially the way women and girls are making the state and the country proud in sports amidst limited resources.

He said that Jharkhand is consistently performing well in sports and in the coming days this state will become a leading state in sports.

The Chief Minister said that Mrs. Deepika Kumari in Archery and Ms. Nikki Pradhan and Ms. Salima Tete in women’s hockey are representing the Indian team in Tokyo Olympics.

When these players return from Tokyo, they will be given a gift by the government, so that in the future they will perform even better and increase the value of the state and the country.

The Chief Minister specially said that the players who got direct appointment should play without any hesitation. Show your talent in sports, the government will take full care of you, he said.
