Minister Intervenes to Address Bed Shortage at Chaibasa Sadar Hospital

10 additional emergency beds provided following social worker’s complaint

Deepak Biruwa responds to concerns over patients being treated on floor.

CHAIBASA – The Sadar Hospital in West Singhbhum has added 10 emergency beds following intervention by Jharkhand’s Tribal Welfare and Transport Minister Deepak Biruwa.

This action comes in response to a complaint by social worker Rajaram Gupta about overcrowding due to seasonal illnesses.

"Patients were being treated on the floor and receiving IV fluids while lying on the ground," Gupta had reported to the minister.

Biruwa promptly directed hospital authorities to address the situation.

"We’ve immediately allocated 10 additional beds to the emergency ward," a hospital administration spokesperson stated.

The hospital management has assured that further improvements will be made soon.

"We’re working to rectify other issues and enhance patient care facilities," the spokesperson added.

This incident highlights the strain on rural healthcare infrastructure during peak illness seasons.

Gupta’s activism demonstrates the role of community members in bringing attention to local healthcare challenges.

The minister’s swift response underscores the government’s commitment to addressing public health concerns.

This development may prompt a broader review of bed capacity in district hospitals across Jharkhand.

Residents have welcomed the quick action but emphasize the need for long-term solutions to healthcare infrastructure issues.
