RANCHI – From Monday night, the weather in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, began to change, signaling the approach of the monsoon season.
On Tuesday morning, many areas of Ranchi experienced rain and cold winds, making the weather pleasant.
The rainfall, which occurred between 5:30 and 6:00 AM, provided much-needed relief to residents who had been enduring scorching heat.
A significant drop of about two degrees was recorded in the temperature.
This weather change is an indication of the monsoon’s arrival.
The monsoon has reached Jharkhand’s border area and is expected to enter the state between June 20 and 21.
Ongoing Heatwave Conditions
Despite the pleasant weather in Ranchi, intense heat conditions persisted in several other areas of Jharkhand on Tuesday.
The Meteorological Department issued a heat wave warning for many parts of the state.
The maximum temperature in Ranchi reached 38°C, while Bokaro recorded the lowest at 26.1°C, and Daltonganj the highest at 44.5°C.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand noted that the North-West Turf crossing West Bengal is causing rain in some districts of Jharkhand.
However, the heat wave continues in many regions, prompting caution among residents.
The department has advised people to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during the afternoon to stay safe from the heat wave.
Weather Predictions and Precautions
The Meteorological Department has forecasted heat waves for Wednesday in Palamu, Latehar, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Garhwa, Chatra, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Deoghar, and Bokaro districts.
Simultaneously, there is a high possibility of rain in Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, and Saraikela Kharsawan districts.
The weather will continue to fluctuate until the monsoon fully enters the state.
Residents are urged to stay cautious and prepared for varying weather conditions in the coming days.
